My Projects
Check out some of my recent projects! From creating my own book, to acting in a group video, to narrating my own podcast --- my coursework at UW - Madison has allowed me do it all. Each of these projects encouraged me to explore the true depths of my creativity and taught me how to work both tangibly and digitally, something that will surely aid me in future pursuits.

To Make A Book in 16th - Century France
This project was created as a part of the course LIS 350: The History and Future of Books at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. For this individual project, I was tasked with researching a specific time and place in book history and then creating any deliverable that was not an essay based on that research. I focused my research on 16th-century France, creating my own physical book based on the books of the historical French printer Yolande Bonhomme. In this video, I showcase the process of creating the physical book as well as outlining the research I did to complete my piece. To briefly overview the process of making this project, I blended cotton rags into pulp to create my own paper, stitched the resulting sheets together with a traditional French Link Stitch, bound the book in leather and chipboard, and decorated the cover in gold foil. For this project, I also whittled my own woodcut printer’s mark, boiled walnut-based ink, and carved a feather quill. This video and my work took a span of about one month to create. It was definitely the most challenging yet rewarding project I have completed as an undergraduate student!

The Interview
This group video project was created as a part of the class Communication Arts 155: Introduction to Digital Media Production at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. It was made alongside my classmates Lucia Gadau, Joe Doornek, and Bowen Staehly. Our video, The Interview, is about a young man (Joe Doornek) who discovered he woke up late on the day of his interview for a new job. He rushes to get ready, faces a few setbacks on his way to the interview, and is welcomed by a twisting turn of events when he finally arrives. This project was a collective effort, being storyboarded, written, filmed, edited, and acted in by all members of the group. It was filmed around the UW - Madison campus with the intention of being a lighthearted, comedic video aimed toward young adults at the stage of their lives where they might be interviewing for new jobs. With the final product of this video, our team won a Hoyty award for Best Group Video, which was given to us by our professor Dr. Eric Hoyt at the end of the semester.

The Commencement Speech
This podcast was created as a part of the class Communication Arts 155: Introduction to Digital Media Production at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. It was an individual project written, recorded, and edited entirely by me using Adobe Audition. The podcast is about a personal experience of the time I gave the commencement speech at my high school graduation. Let's just say things did not go exactly as planned! This podcast was recognized as a standout project and was published on the Digital Studies Student Showcase Website.
